Improvement on selling flags by The Community Chest

(Recently, there are people stole money from funds by selling flag-unclear sentence-revise). “The Community Chest has made improvements to avoid fund stolen by volunteers.” said Louie H S Tong, Community Relations Manager of the Community Chest of Hong Kong, yesterday.


Tong said selling flags is not an high efficient activity to raise funds, however, this kind of activity can have a great effect on advertising and volunteers. “Team (spirt) can be built up through these activities,” Tong said. “Especially for primary and secondary school students.”


To avoid (thief-person, use noun for the action/crime), Community Chest has asked a number of primary and secondary school students to join and be (the-omit) volunteers. Also, every flag bag have its own code and it’s design have been improved, “it is easy for us to check when any problem exists.” It can be guaranteed to educate youngsters and avoid fund stolen in fund raising events. It is also about the reputation of organization, “we can promise to make sure all donations can be used in the right way.“


To be(either end with -ing or -come) the biggest charity organization in Hong Kong, integrity is most important. Tong said, “Through the past 4 decades, trust has been built between the organization and donors.” High transparency of working process and clear management system are then needed, Tong said reports were done to show how the Community Chest use the money. Besides, interaction is needed to be opened. “Let the feedback comes,” said Tong. The organization can then understand what is in clients’ mind.
