It is good for us to use slang in society

Slang can promote a well acknowledge of the meaning of words in person to person communication to get understanding easily. Mr. Pang Chi Ming said.

This was said yesterday by Mr. Pang Chi Ming, a columnist of Apple Daily and AM730. He said that the use of slang has its historical provenance and value. It is developed by the change of generation.

Slang usually comes from other countries. And most of slang has its special meaning. We should not think slang is vulgar that avoid using them. Because it is sometimes more useful than some written language.

“Although we usually use written language in our writing, it does not mean that written language is the best language.” Mr. Pang said. Because slang is developed in a region, it is simple for people, who are living in the region, to understand, especially for the poor.

Some teachers neglect the importance of the development of slang, they prohibit students from using it. Pang believed teachers should instill the use of slang correctly instead of interfere in spreading the use of slang. It will affect the preservation and development of civilization.

Pang encourages students pay attention to different things around the world in order to enhance general knowledge. It is a good method for students to get well prepare for the path to be a journalist.
