Hong Kong journalists used to be proud of the freedom of press, until the Hong Kong 818 incident happened, but James Pomfret, the South China Correspondent, reckons that Hong Kong’s freedom of press is not dying. (((nice lead)))

The 818 incident stirred up a hornet’s nest in Hong Kong. Even though the Commissioner of Police, Andy Tsang, explained in legislative council, citizens do not feel satisfied with his explanation. However, when everyone says that Hong Kong is dying, James doesn’t agree with it as most of the Hong Kong media were still bold in expressing their anger to the government, unlike the media in China. (((good)))

James thinks that Hong Kong Government is to blame for the incident, but at least the government do not restrain the journalists not to write any bad thing about it. “ In China, reporters are restrained by the government, and even though they have amazing stories, due to the over-sensitivity of the government, they can’t publish them,” said James. "Hong Kong is still a great place and is not dying, people should cherish the freedom here(((," he added.))))!!!

(((nice article...pretty strong and concise)))
