The convenor of the Alliance for True Democracy predicts that the HK government will have the consultation of political reform after the coming Third Plenary Session in November.

Joseph Yu-shek Cheng, the convenor of the Alliance for True Democracy said in SYU, that the Hong Kong government does not have the power to decide when to start the consultation of the political reform. The Legco president Jasper TSANG Yok-sing once commented most of the HK politicians tend to listen to Beijing always. Cheng said it is an answer to show that the critical thing depends on Beijing. And it is the Central government deciding to give Hong Kong a real democracy.

Cheng also said that the universal suffrage needs to have competition and choice to HK people but it has two main difficulties. The first is will Beijing sift through the candidates at first and affect the recognition of the selected Chief Executive and the future government. And the second is will Beijing accept their candidate loses or the candidate of Pan-democracy win.

“The reporting is totally wrong.” Cheng claimed that his meeting with Shih Ming-teh is under the agreement of the Alliance for True Democracy. He said that is a normal meeting to introduce the situation of democracy in Hong Kong. And said that he once a member of the Alliance for True Democracy, he will be responsible to it on every single act. He said if one day they cannot compromise, he will withdraw from the alliance. --115064 2013年10月22日 (二) 18:27 (UTC)
