Journalist Should Say Standard Pronunciation

Law Wing Kwan, the Station Announcer of Television Broadcasts Limited, came to Shue Yan University yesterday and urged people to sound properly. Nowadays, many youngsters do have wrong pronunciation in Cantonese which may be thought as a young language and trend, but actually it is problematic. "In the past, we did not have so many wrong pronunciations, but there are more wrong pronunciations than correct one among youngers. That is worrying.” he said.

Law, thus, have innovated a TV program entitled“Correct Words are most important”few months ago, which proposes more correct daily words. It aroused a big voice. And people started to concern the usage of correct words as well as the sound.

Wrong pronunciation seems like a point of ink on a white shirt when this dirt really fouled one’s impression, even though pretty/handsome people. In fact, The most common reason behind wrong pronunciation is due to people’s laziness. “Try to be determined and insist, you can improve pronunciation. Every one can do it.” Law said.

Law also recommend the journalists should reduce as few as wrong pronunciations in their speaking because they are responsible to give out the massage of news to public who may finally learn their wong formats. Therefore he encouraged journalist students should say no to wrong pronunciations from now on.
