Susie Chiang states that a reporter is responsible for speaking out from a sense of righteousness for the society in order to achieve complete social justice. Today, Susie Chiang, the chairwoman of CS Culture Foundation, shared her own experiences of being a senior reporter with students in Hong Kong Shue Yan University. She told the students that they should put more efforts in maintaining the social justice by interpreting the instances in an accurate and objective way.

Susie, also known as Taiwan's Barbara Waters, produced a series of feature programs on Chinese culture. She was also good at doing exclusive interviews with political dignitaries and visiting national leaders. Her experiences told the students that they should build a close relationship with their interviewees by chatting with them and attempt to understand them instead of just questioning and answering.

And, Susie indicated that the job of a reporter should not be stopped at depicting the history but participating in composing the history. She explained that journalist’s status in Taiwan is very lofty as they are willing to say the words fairly. The authority of journalist is even strong enough to compel the corrupt officials to resign. Therefore, they have high status and are respected by the officials as well as the public. Thus, the news coverage should have positive impact to the society by disclosing the facts in a just and objective way.

To achieve this, Susie explained that journalist requires a certain extent of moral standard. They should also be able to take advantages of the time and opportunity and believe in “nothing is impossible” in order to pluck up courage.
