‘If you think you are creative and do not always bounded by tradition,

you are the people we are wanted,’ said by Ricky Wong Wai Kei, the

chairman of HKTV today at Shue Yan University. HKTV will be established

in the coming June, Wong claimed that being creative and innovative is

the way they are heading to.

Earnest Li, The News Controller of HKTV News Department said nowadays

journalist should be a ‘CID’ which stands for ‘connect’, ‘inspire’

and ‘determine’. “Connect’ means the influential power of one, for

example how wide your conduct or speech would affect people. “Inspire”

means the creativity and in what way you can affect people. ”Determine”

means being passionate and motivated. He claimed that these requirements

are vital to be a new journalist because of the rise of mobile journalism.

Ricky Wong said although news cannot always be ‘innovative’ as there are

specific guidelines for a professional journalist like being balanced with

fair judgment, he claimed that he is only hoping to have a new visual

presentation, but not affecting the quality or content of the news.
