Lai Man Lok Oscar, the spokesperson of Scholarism, said that Scholarism aimed to inspire the public to make donations to the organization because of long term proposal for the later two years.

Scholarism is founded by a group of secondary school students under a controversial issue of proposing Moral and National Education (MNE) in Hong Kong in May 2011. After the government agreed to make amendment on the proposal of MNE, Scholarism started to participate in political issue representing the 90's teenagers.

Scholarism has suggested a proposal of "Civil nomination" on the Universal Suffrage of Chief executive of 2017. Lai said that Scholarism will evaluate the proposal which fit most of the Hong Kong citizens but they will not change their original concept of equality. Lai said that Scholarism worried about the political parties will change their standpoint of the Universal suffrage, that’s why they refused the suggestion of legislative members to make nomination on Universal Suffrage.

Based on the members quit Scholarism, Lai explained that the members were quitted because of their behavior do not match the objective of Scholarism and damage the image of Scholarism. Lai said that some of the members were making a gamble on Memorials for the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989. After the evaluation meeting of the members, they decided to ask those members to quit.

From the previous donation of Scholarism, they have raised about $900 thousand. Lai explained that the donation is going to use in long term proposed. They are going to put about 300 to 400thousand the publishing magazine of Scholarism and general administrative purpose use. Lai also explained why they need nearly 20 thousand to rent an office in industrial building for use which is convenient to the members to have meeting. Lai said that Scholarism is going to disclose the financial report afterwards to improve its financial transparency.
