Tang’s extramarital affair is a recent topic, and his PR strategies are disagreed on by the public. Shue Yan Professor, Leung Tin-wai rebuked that Tang is not qualified to be the next CE.

During the general assembly in Shue Yan University, guest Esme Lau Mei-yee, Public Affairs Manager of Power Assets Holdings Limited, said Henry Tang Ying-yen’s response regarding his sex scandal is acceptable. As a professional PR, Lau thinks that if Tang had no other details open to the public, he would be wise not to answer any questions. “How would his answers satisfy the public?” she sighed.

Lau said that the scandal only has a small impact on Tang, as answering the public’s questions and the acceptance of the public cannot be generalized. However, Professor Leung stopped her speech and rebuked, “Tang Ying-yen is not qualified to be the next CE! Compared with the former U.S. President Bill Clinton and the former CE of Macau Ho Hau-wah, their handling of sex scandal goes far beyond Tang's,” it reflects that Tang has less political wisdom.

Lau thinks that PR is responsible for spin in political affairs. She suggested that the respondents should keep their personal opinions and not lie, or else it becomes more difficult to convince the public. “PR can provide simulated press conference to the respondents, so that they would be psychologically prepared for the questions.”
