The Department Head of Journalism and Communication of Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Leung Tin Wai, attended the general assembly in Hong Kong Shue Yan University and criticized that Henry Tong Ying-yen may not be a probable candidate of HKSAR chief executive.

By Karin Lai

Leung said the PR strategies and the performances of Tong Ying-yen are unbecoming, and he suggested Tang should have taken a look of the past political icon as an example. “Compare Tong’s performance to William Jefferson “Bill” Clinton, the past president of United States, and Edmund Ho Hau-wah, the past chief executive of the Macau Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, which both of them had been involved in the sex scandal without being criticized by public in a large extent.”

Leung recapped Tang’s past political achievements, which have no special contributions to Hong Kong society but blemished by his naive actions in front of public. Tang had made some clangers in the past, which arise many social criticisms. Leung appraised Tang has inadequate political wisdom to be a satisfactory chief executive of HKSAR.

Tong admitted he has some extra-marital affairs in the past, a few days after his resignation from the chief secretary of HKSAR. However, in his press release he had only used the word “some mere mistakes in my emotion."
