Bauhinia Magazine, founded in 1990 currently covers more than 160 countries and regions. Its President and Chief Editor Liu Wei-zhong was invited to the general assembly of Journalism and Communication Department at Hong Kong Shue Yan University yesterday, said that Bauhinia Magazine would continue its unique positioning and editorial guidelines, in order to maintain its own competitiveness.

" Internet could provide audience the fastest and newest information which Bauhinia Magazine could not. Therefore we would offer in-depth and analytical reports and news to readers, in order to cope with the challenges brought by the Internet," Liu Wei-zhong said.

"Bauhinia Magazine was aiming to produce content which was creative, in-depth, unique and accurate," Liu said. He said the magazine would always come up with some creative ideas and then research on them seriously. Then, editors would go deep into the analysis and objectively comment on them based on the facts. They would creatively write on those topics with unique perspectives as well.

Offering Diversified Activities To Enhance Competitiveness

"Bauhinia Magazine kept progressing with the society. It was more than a magazine," Liu said. He said apart from publishing the magazine, Bauhinia Magazine would also hold activities such as inviting state leaders to attend the "one country, two systems" seminar, and organizing competition for students based on the knowledge of China's reformation and opening-up. He said diversified activities could help Bauhinia spread its own perspective and vision, so as to enhance its competitiveness. ((received...will mark in person))
