Live TV reporters always show their professional images to the audience. Stepped down from the front line, they are just normal as us.

Ivan Yau Man Wa, a former anchor and reporter of TVB, shared his memorable experience in reporting the Garley Building Fire in 1996. “It’s a tragedy,” Ivan described. He stood in the forefront and saw the whole incident. “I was upset when seeing the victims’ relatives,” Ivan continued, “It’s hard for me to sustain such a sad picture.”

“Being a reporter should always keep objective and professional,” Ivan said calmly. "Each time we saw sad stories, we need to control our emotion in order to complete the live broadcasting.”[Why is this important?]

Stepped down from the front line, Ivan is now an assistant general manager of Sino Group's corporate communications department. Though changed the identity, Ivan can still apply his past experience into this new post. “Being professional at work, and being normal at home.” Ivan said smilingly.
