Internet is not just a tool, it is a way to bond the whole world, but we need to filter the information before making any judgement of others because not everything we received from the internet is real.

“Internet reflects the generation,” Hu Ching Fang said, director of Kwang Hwa Information and Culture Centre said at a Hong Kong Shue Yan University forum yesterday. Living in the internet generation, voice from different parties and standpoints can easily comes together, people can easily reach other people who share same values through social media platforms, she added.

“Internet improves the speed of communication, but is that real?” she said. Internet has given us different ways to know a person, but all the information we received from internet are just characters set by people themselves or netizens, but not real, we should not define others only by the description we found in the internet, she added.

“We need to learn how to be alone in the information age ,”she said. Social media has created the anxiety, internet users chase for the approval from others, they don’t have enough confident to express themselves and leading to cyber bullying .She believed that to avoid being bullied or isolated in the social media, we need to build up our confident and learn how to be alone.

Internet just like a bubble, people who living in the internet generation are the one inside the bubble, but people who are outside the bubble are easily being forgotten by the society, they don’t benefit from the advance of technology at all, they are being isolated, she added.--165054 2018年10月2日 (二) 17:33 (CST)
