Lo Chi Leung: Movies can be a communication tool and a tool for instigating public

Lo Chi Leung, a Hong Kong film director, said movies could not be divided to art film or commercial movie and, they did not only for communication between producers and public, but they also could instigate public.

Lo thought that commercial film and art film ware involved calculation, such as jury in the Festival de Cannes would base on the topic to choose the movies, 90% of the chosen movies were the same theme.

Lo mentioned that film producers wanted to communicate with audiences through movies. Therefore, producing a good film, producers needed to put their hearts and effort into it because audiences could feel it, he said.

However, Lo pointed out that movie is a tool to instigate public. Because of the power of movies, many countries chose to use radio and movie when there were somethings happened.
