The CEO of DBC , Loh Chan, said at Hong Kong Shue Yan University’s general assembly this afternoon that D100, an online radio, does not qualify for a radio license.

“D100 should not apply a radio license,” said Loh, referring to DBC's direct competitor operated by Albert Cheng Jing-han, the ex-shareholder of DBC. Loh made his comments because of the high speed growth of technology, online radio were popular, D100 shouldn’t apply the broadcast radio station licence. He adds, the new technologies were well-developed, therefore, the content of the media can reach all over the world, so, there were no problems even D100 doesn’t have the license, though it was its weakness temporarily.

“Content is king,” says Loh. He thinks that the media’s format was not the vital cause of failure, but the content. Loh emphases that compared to the other digital broadcast radio corporations, the differentiation of DBC was it has 7 channels, the top of the among several corporations, and it could enrich the content of DBC by creating a varity of programme to attract minority’s support.
