“The destiny of 1.3 billion people is controlled by seven people. Does Obama control America’s destiny?” said, Ma Chim Wai James, the Executive Producer of Public & Current Affairs Section in Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), adding that Beijing may push for policy changes in Hong Kong.

The Chinese Communist Party's 18th Congress, which was just closed last week, marked a key power transition in China. Seven leaders of the new generation appeared in public.

Ma pointed out that every single word from the congress had gone through strict approval verification, thus every word was actually arranged to deliver some meanings.

He disclosed that words like “handle the affairs according to Basic Law” did not existed in the report about Hong Kong in the closing session. He hinted that this might indicate that there would be some change in the policy of Hong Kong.

Ma once interviewed Chen Guidi, the author of A Survey of the Chinese Peasants, in the TV program called Think about China. Chen Guidi has exposed the tragic life of Chinese peasants under the exploitation.

“The Chinese Government often talks about harmony, however, the society is not harmonious at all”, said Ma.
