Jack Forest, editorial director of Timesquare Magazine, said it was unavoidable to promote the advertisers’ product in the cover stories as it is what they are made for.


Some questioned the neutrality of his magazine, which introduces luxury watches to its readers, raising the possibility of misleading them to buy the over-valued products.


“There is much to compromise, as we cannot survive without advertising revenue, “ Forest said, “but we always seek balance.” He admitted every cover story is for promotion, but he still judges every products whether they are qualified to be shown on the front page.
