Li Kuo Hsing, the Chairman of Mei Ah Entertainment Group Ltd. pointed out that making a movie is just like gambling, “You can reduce investment losses by experience, but you’ll never know which “bet” could bring you greater returns.”

((strong lead))

Meh Ah Entertainment was established at 1984 and has invested in abundant well-known screenplays such as “Days of Being Wild” (1990) directed by famous local director Wong Kar Wai, which routinely tops Hong Kong critics' lists of the best local productions. Their most recent investment, local blockbuster movie “Echoes of the Rainbow” (2010) even won the 2010 Berlin Film Festival's Crystal Bear award.

Li said, 1989-1995 was the “golden decade” of Hong Kong movie, at that time Mei Ah seldom involves in movie production but have greater share on within movie publication. However, later on Illegal copy and download given a punch to face to the industry. Depression of the industry ignites Meh ah to actively involve in movie production.

Mysterious Island (2011) was a great success to Mei Ah as it was a low cost movie production but has surprisingly returns in several times of interest. “Echoes of the Rainbow” was also a “winning bet” to Mei Ah. “Making a movie cost about 500 million HKD, but this one requires 2,000 millions. But it finally proves that all the investments are worthy,” Li added. ((nice angle and good use of content to structure your piece..nice work))
