“People could see though the state political value by the media wordings, as the relationship between media, language and politics are in separate.” said Professor Chang.

Tuesday, Mr. Chang S.H., the Professor of Department of Chinese Language and Literature was invited to give a talk about “Media Language and Dialect” at Hong Kong Shue Yan College.

During the assembly, Professor Chang showed us that media wording is a kind of politics index. As people know that there were no media using dialect for reporting at past days, due to the state was demanding unifying and uniting. Nowadays, a dialect appearing in different media in different province, telling the state starts to care and accept the minority, also she is adopting a more open-minded political value, getting rid of the high tension politics finesse.

If people want to understand more about the state value, they could take a look on the media wordings. The state should be using a liberal value supposing the wordings are vivid enough and full of local color, otherwise, the state must be using a closed value supposing the media wording in an identical, harden styles.
