(Next time, please observe your deadline. Your lead was OK but sort of trite. We have heard all this for so many years now that it isn't news anymore. It should be digitized, not digitalized as you said. Since the people in Hong Kong are not too familiar with the nature of Huffington Post, you should present your readers with some background information regarding the format of its website and its popularity. Especially the fact that the Huffington Post had never existed as a printed publication. Unlike other traditional printed media, the Huff Post started out as a news website, a digitized news outlet with blogs. )

Media in digital era

Chris Anderson, the Senior Editor of the Huffington Post foresees all major publications will soon have their online presences alongside with their original appearances, “it’s just a matter of time” said the 35-year old Senior Editor.

Newsweek, one of the most known printed media will have its last publication on 31st December, 2012 and afterwards, Newsweek will no longer be printed but digitalized. While some may make a forecast in saying that all print media, in the end, will all go digital, the Senior Editor regards this as one of the many ways that a media can use to deal with the era of digitalization, “Printed media will not be replaced totally by digital media. People still love print.”

One of the major roles of traditional journalists is to influence the public on what to think about by prioritizing the news printed to the public. Yet, in this age when everyone can be a journalist, this role is seemingly diminishing. The digital Senior Editor, however, disagrees and stresses on the importance of traditional journalists, “Traditional journalists, with their trainings, are the ones who can give the right questions in doing a report” and quoted himself as a digital editor, “I got to choose what news should appear on the front page and what should come later”, despite news being everywhere, as an editor of an aggravated news website, it is still traditional journalists to decide the priority.

Commenting on the different ways of working in a print and a digital media, Anderson loves the latter one more as “my work can always come out today but not tomorrow”. On top of that, being a digital editor, one should work along well with a tech team as though being creativity is important for one to be a successful digital editor in this digital era, one should still consider the reality. Nonetheless, working twelve hours a day, replying your boss email at 2am in the morning should be no surprise for a non-stopping medium.
