HKSYU, 14 FEB - HKSAR had announced to approve three free television station licenses in the foreseeable future. Global media specialist Ho Yuet Fung shows high(ly) approval towards the (increaseing) competition in the general assembly of HKSYU.

“The more the choices of television channels, the better the quality of programs,”she says (with her) convincing tone.

Nowadays, there are just two public television stations without charges. TVB currently gains higher audience rating than that of ATV which has a monopoly among electronic medium. Ho stressed that the rigid routine and (less creativity of TV stations-rephrase) are mainly caused by the lack of competition among trades.

Since there is more and more television viewers who can receive digital signal, Ho predicted that the audience size would be seriously expanded in the coming future.

Local population is increasing and mainlanders tend to be more interested in watching programs by Hong Kong producers. “It is more beneficial when more opportunities are created in order to allow investors joining in local television industry,”

She took TVB program“When Heaven Burns”as a good example. This drama is regarded as a turning point of local television industry by showing ‘courage’ and ‘initiative’of scriptwriters to bring rare ideas and extraordinary angle to the story plot.

“The scene of human eating human during a hiking in snow-capped mountain is undoubtfully eye-catching and astonishing to traditional viewers.”She strongly pointed out the importance of alternative ideas and unpredictable contents in drama shows.

Good, better than the previous week. This story is more complete, and has a better flow. Keep it up! I just noticed your work is a day late, what about the deadline?

Professor's comment:

Good, better than the previous week. This story is more complete, and has a better flow. Keep it up! I just noticed your work is a day late, what about the deadline?'

Chloe's Feedback:

Overall, there are several problems had been made and corrected respectively as follows:

1. high(ly)

→ Use the wrong 'Adverb' form instead of Adjective. Since the word followed is 'approval' which is a 'Noun', it is essential for writer to use an adjective to describle the level of the situation but not an 'Adverb'.

2. (increaseing)

→ The word 'increasing' is optional.

3. she says (with her) convincing tone.

→ The correct form should be 'she says convincing tone'

4. (less creativity of TV stations-rephrase)

→ Professor's instruction: thinking that it is an optional content in the news article.

5. Overall

→ The article is quite good as professor commented. However, I do think it leaves room to improve mainly there is too much redundancy. Next time, I will pay more attention to this and keep my sentences to be neat and short.
