The spokesperson of Alliance for True Democracy, Joseph

Yu-shek Cheng, said today in Shue Yan that meeting

up with the leader of "Taiwan Independence League"

Shih Ming-te is under the consent of the alliance.

Economic Daily News claimed that Joseph Cheng met

up with Shih for personal reason. Cheng replied

angrily, ‘No! This is a dissemination of malicious,

they are wrong. That’s all,’ he claimed that the news

is completely defamatory which would injure his reputation.

He emphasized that meeting up with Shih is under the

consent of the alliance and said that he is willing

to meet and share the same speech with other different

parties with different social viewpoints.

Talking about the universal suffrage, Cheng believes

that the decision maker is the Chinese government;

the Hong Kong government can only research and observe.

He claimed that most of the Hong Kong citizens hope to see

universal suffrage operating in Hong Kong; however people

are not willing to sacrifice anything for it. It gave rise

to problems of insufficient donations and participates.

Cheng said that the alliance is also facing challenges in

the co-operations among different parties as the alliance

includes 12 different parties with different opinions, the

bifurcation may hurts the reputation and social image of the alliance.
