Mojo changes the world

The wise use of smart phones appears to be an advantage to journalism as both professional and citizen reporters can update live news to internet platforms instantly in any locations.

The guest speaker of Shue Yan University, Stephen Quinn, digital development editor of South China Morning Post group, found that, “mojo”-mobile journalist, became a trend to the world.

Quinn said there was a mobile phone reporting skill for mojo which apps have to be used to edit the videos that taken by smart phones in which he pointed to iphone specifically.

He presented a video about how reporters exercised the mobile phone reporting skills in 2010 Winter Olympic, Vancouver, that only 20 minutes were needed to edit ready-to-broadcast video news.

“You can produce stories all in location,”Quinn said. With 3G or wifi and smart phones with high definition quality, reporters can edit the videos right on location, he added.
