Mabel Leung, managing director of MRRM Publishing LTD, says news analysis and in-depth coverage are important to running a successful monthly magazine in a competitive market.

Leung, today at Hong Kong Shue Yan University, says the monthly magazine is different from weekly or daily print media. In-depth coverage and views of news is the major way to running a monthly magazine. She says Hong Kong market is becoming weak, there are more and more mainland version sealing in Hong Kong, mainland version is growing their influence and even exceed America or England version now. Leung believes that expand platform is a good way to meet this challenge for Hong Kong magazine.

Mabel says, she running magazine as a business. She emphasize that advertising is an important opputions to face the challenges of monthly magazine in Hong Kong. And advertising is precisely major income of monthly magazine.
