No Illegal Downloading Please

Reporter:--095124 楊秀文 YEUNG, SAU MAN 2011年11月8日 (二) 23:01 (UTC)

Illegal downloading of movies is not news. What is new is how to prevent it. The newest is there is still nothing to prevent it. ((clever but awkward intro))

“It cannot be struck and it is striking the movie industry,” Li Kuo Hsing, Chairman of Mei Ah Entertainment Group Ltd said.

Many producers would not invest in making movies because illegal downloads seriously reduces the revenue from movies. But some of them, for example Mei Ah Entertainment Group still have hope in this industry and keep the good quality and quantity of production. But illegal downloading still is a main rock on the road leading to success.

“People suggested cancelling the availability of movies online, but we disagreed. We think this is unfair to those who do not watch films in cinemas,” Li said.

The main issue still remained unsolved. “Illegal download of movies is a graduate destroyer of creation,” he said. “We hope that the new development of sharing movies online will be an end to this.”

Cloud computing has been used for online buying and renting movies. Only several companies are running the trial.

“There are other websites such as GoYeah claiming providing copyrighted version of Mei Ah’s production. I cannot judge whether it is legal or not. What I know we do not authorize or officially cooperate with any website to play our movies. The judgment should be on the hands of viewers,” Li added. ((solid article))
