One of the conveners of the Silent Majority for Hong Kong attended an assembly in Hong Kong Shue Yan University yesterday and said the “Occupy Central” campaign would upset the harmony of the city.

Robert Chow Yung claimed that he would not believe the campaign could run peacefully. He suggested that the campaign would ultimately turn the city into chaos.

“Peace is really fragile. If a person falls onto railway tracks, it could take you more than two hours to get stuck,” said Chow, trying to show how a mere incident can post an unpredictably great impact. Also, he emphasized the importance of stability and prosperity, which the Silent Majority group concerns most, throughout his speech. He wanted citizens to treasure what they have right now as he reckoned it would not be easy to turn back once the campaign initiated.

Chow believed that negotiation among different parties could be a solution to the city’s political discourse. “Either the Civic Party or the Democratic Party, could forgo a part of itself and compromise with the other party, politics in Hong Kong could move on. And this is 100% possibly to happen,” said Chow, determinedly.
