The Power Assets Holding is proposing to build an offshore wind farm near Lamma Island which will generate about 170 million units of electricity a year, about 1.6% of the company’s annual electric output in 2009.

The Power Assets Holding has studied both the site and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). The research concluded that there were not sufficient land and wind to develop an onshore wind farm, but the offshore area has a higher wind potential.

The wind farm will cover a total of 600 hectares, with each wind turbine’s capacity ranging from 2.3 to 3.6 megawatt (MW); enough for the consumption of about 50,000 families in Hong Kong.

“Our staff is collecting data near Lamma Island, and we are planning to build 28 to 35 wind turbines to generate electricity,” said Esme Lau, the company's Public Affairs Manager. (where did this statement come from?-a reader might ask)

The chosen site is about 4 km southwest of Lamma Island, the wind monitoring station will be located there to collect wind data. The station will help collect meteorological and oceanographic data, which will help design the wind turbines and optimize the wind farm array arrangement. (Is this a quote?)

The Hong Kong Electric is targeting to complete the wind farm in the year 2015, as long as the proposed project is goes smoothly.

Your article is focused, concise, and precise with the data it provides. This is all the information an average reader might need about the project. Good job!
