Olympic is a golden chance for people to have introspections

Director of Corporate Administration, Equestrian Events (HK) of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad Co Limited, Dr. Horace Yuen, saying that the Olympic games are the valuable opportunities for people to have introspections of themselves.

Dr Yuen mentioned the Olympiad, Olympism and Beijing 2008 is very important to reflect the social values in Hong Kong. As the equestrian events are coming in the summer, it is a golden chance to help rebuilding a positives social values to people all over the world.

Also, he stated that Hong Kong has to face a lot of problem in organizing the equestrian events. For instance, summer in Hong Kong is very hot and humid, the weather may affect the horses’ performances and abilities. “It’s very hard for horses under 30 Degree Celsius.” In order to solve the problem, the events are decided to held in the mornings or evenings to minimize the weather factor.

For the recent Tibet cases, Yuen said that people should not relate politics in the Olympic. He hopes Hong Kong people can learn more about fairness, friendship, peace, dignity and glory through the Olympic. “It is a good opportunity for Hong Kong people to learn from the Olympic spirit.”
