One-TV remains objective

News Director of one-TV said that media should not only be a monitor to the goverment, but to allow different points of view. The channel will take a role of nature and provide objective views to the audience.


Chen Jane, news director of One-TV indicated that, media bears a responsibility to be a monitor to the government. But on the other hand, It should allow different opinions.


As a new comer for the field, One-TV aims at remaining objective, said Chen. Therefore, journalists should not involve personal and nationalist Emotion when reporting news. She cited Diaoyutai incidents as an example. "Apart from the opinions of Chinese government," said Chen,"we will include views of Japanese government so as to present the new story in a comprehensive and objective way."


Chen said that, journalists are not analysts, they should not evaluate issues. The channel, therefore, will provide different points of view from various analyst and experts with different backgrounds, which purposes to provide audience various mindset.
