HONG KONG, APR 9 – One TV, a new broadcasting station targeting viewers in the Asia Pacific region, will launch its new channel in Hong Kong this year, with the vision of bringing its audiences a creative and unique style of news reporting.

Jane Chen, the news director of One TV, said that the station is determined to bringing news with vitality and profundity as she found that traditional media in Hong Kong lacked creativity by presenting news in a "similar manner".

"The world appears to be the same to all of us, but our vision is different from the others,” said Chen.

With only 41 employers in the news department, Chen is confident that the youths will bring surprises to the audiences with their creative minds despite of their inexperience.

Chen also emphasized that the station will deliver unbiased facts that arouse public concerns without challenging the existing political system of the country, thus enhance the diversity of news coverage in Hong Kong and invite new thinking and by making in-depth analysis on particular news events.

“Hong Kong is a paradise for journalists as a favor environment is a very important element for making news,” said Chen.

One TV is the 18th non-domestic television programme service license in Hong Kong and the validity will last for 12 years counting from February 2013.
