When talking about Public Relation (PR), the first impression should be a gorgeous job in general public’s mind. But for PR themselves, it is a hard and important job, especially for the fresh graduates.

Esme Lau, the Public Affairs Manager (Media and Communication) of Power Assets Holdings Ltd., said PR is an important channel for the company's communication with public and its staff. “Take Power Assets Holdings Ltd as an example, there are two teams of PR. One is for corporate communication and another is for news and social relationship. They both serve for customers, staff and also communicate with media, public and etc.”

(((((((((The basic job of corporate PR is to let public and stakeholders know more about the company and get their support. Besides, PR should raise the company’s reputation and image. However, it is not enough. “There is an important role of PR that is to cope with the crisis.))))))))))

There will be an advantage when((((you had been a media)))))))).” Esme said. Crisis can ruin a company. Therefore, as the one in charge of the reputation building, PR should react immediately. In these cases, PR will be work behind to turn crisis to opportunity. The first and important step is to communicate with media. “If you had the experience in media work, then you know more about what they want to know and what they are interested. Then you can design the answer they want to know and you want to show. And you need to make sure all your information provided is correct.”
