The hot topic in the PR field today is how the potential chief executive candidate, Henry Tang Ying Yen, dealt with his scandal. The crisis has shown the importance of public relations in politics. Esme Lau, the public affairs manager of the Power Assets Holdings Limited, commented on Tang's handling of the crisis.

“Crisis can become a chance for a person or an organization when you do it in a proper way((((((?)))))),” said Lau. Under the planning and the quick response of Tang’s PR team, Tang reacted on the affair in a short period of time. Some people criticized the potential chief executive’s response (((is not good and completely lack of political sense))). Lau replied, different people will have different points of view. ‘So, there is no perfect plan to suit everyone,’ said Lau.

“There is no formula for being a successful PR,” Esme emphasized. Being a PR officer is a challenging job. It is because PR officers have to face an ever-changing world every day. Therefore, making a good decision or settling down an issue will give her satisfaction on PR work. ‘That is the why PR attracts me,’ Lau added.
