The Public Affairs Manager of Power Assets Holdings Ltd, Esme Lau attended Shue Yan University for a talk today. She gave some tips to students interested in pursuing a career in PR (PR=profession, not individual or professional). She stressed that, as a PR representative, you should always be well prepared; there are lots of challenges in this industry.

“Journalist and PR maintain a close relationship.” said Lau. (could this be considered a tip, or is it simply a fact?)

The role of PR in corporation in very important as the PR is the people who deal with the crisis, some of these crises can’t be expected. Lau said it is essential to keep a good relationship with the Media because the Media is the way for the corporation to communicate with their customers.

“Besides being well prepared, PR officials should be very smart. What a good PR does is to turn a crisis into opportunity.”

Lau emphasized the workload of (PR) is much heavier than we(who is we?) could imagine. However, she enjoys her work as she finds the work meaningful. (As a PR, sometimes she has to speak to the public. Therefore, if you want to be a PR, you should build up your confidence first. these two sentence could be combined, as the first states an obvious fact-can be shortened) Sometimes she has to be a strategist, a make-up artist or a nursemaid (what do you mean by nursemaid?) instead. She thinks the most successful PR is the one who can turn the crisis into opportunity.(repeating the same point).

Your articles needs to be supplemented with actual tips on turning a crisis into an opportunity. Otherwise your news angle is focused.
