Eva Lee, corporate affairs of Alibaba group, manager of content bureau, attended to the New Faculty Week of Shue Yan University this afternoon.

Eva said paper media must strive for future development with transformation, but transformation does not mean success. She said that there were many ways to transform, but how to spread different messages in different forms would affect the success or failure of the transition. She believed that the transition should also take into account the different orientations of the readership and the fragmentation of the content, and it was necessary to open up the market by disseminating information from various aspects and perspectives.

Eva believed that professional journalists will not be banned by ordinary citizens. However, she agreed that all the people were reporting, but it did not mean that professional journalists could be banned. She said that in addition to reporting the single news, professional journalists should also track and report on incidents when necessary, so news readers could get more information, and these things were not done or made by ordinary citizens; an interview with some specific people and experts and making reports were not made by the general public.

Eva said that the paper media faced such a large competitor of the online media, they needed to make changes to find new ways of reporting. She took the New York Times as an example. Even the New York Times’ "old-fashioned", which is a paper-based media, could not be smothered and gradually slain with the changes in the Internet. She said that printing media are all falling, for the leading paper media, the film should no longer be such a simple one. For example, the film used for news reports could add the effect of VR, which makes people feel like they are in the middle. In addition, it is also possible to use multiple angles and different ways to report, making the report more comprehensive and in line with the tastes of different people, so that more people would use paper to read the news, not to be compared with the online media.
