(Nip said he has no right to disclose the Chief Executive's family business but he can certainly tell us if the unexpected has come, being the head of government's information service, what kind of measures would he take to minimize the negative impact has on the CE. This is a case study but too bad we let him slip away.)

The Chief Executive CY Leung’s daughter Chai-yan Leung posted on Facebook that she want to commit suicide and was assaulted by her mother. It aroused public’s attention. Patrick Nip-Tak Kuen, Director of Information Service said CE’s family needs some space to deal with it, hope public could give them some room.

Nip said this is the privacy of CE’s family, public should respect others ’s privacy, as a outsider he is not appropriate for him to discuss it openly as he did not know the detail of the incident, he hope that pubic could give their family a suitable space to handle this.

When asking whether the case happened today is expected, Nip said, “ Yes and no.”
