(Your lead is concise which is good. It is better to mention the venue "....in Shue Yan University..." in your next paragraph. Doing so would trim your lead and avoid misunderstanding that he was talking about the "content in Shue Yan University.." It is not "the research must be clear and short", it is the writing and sentence must be clear and short. It is not "Steve" said, it should be "Wallace" said. It is a rule to address people by the last name.)

Steve Wallace, the founder of Wallace Academic Editing said 27% of the rejected research paper is because of poor writing style and use of English but not the content in Shue Yan University yesterday.

"You are clearer when you are direct." Steve said. He explained that readers don't want to guess when they are reading a research paper, so the research must be clear and short.

Using active voice is another important rules for writing research paper. "Always use active voice except the subject is not known or people doesn't care the subject." Steve said active voice is always better than passive voice.

Steve also said always choose verb over noun, verb is live but noun is dead. And he added using verb can avoid many redundancy words or garbage verb.
