Reported by Philip Choy

The Hong Kong Economic Journal made a change in its selling price in this month. However, the executive chief editor of the HKEJ, Tim Chan, claimed that the sales volume of their newspaper has decreased after this price expansion.

Price raised, Sell dropped

The Hong Kong Economic Journal (信報) has made a price rise from HKD$ 6 to HKD $8 per each issue in the beginning of this month, which is increased by almost 31%. AS a result, HKEJ is now experiencing a slight decrease in its number of subscription and daily selling. However, said by Tim Chan, 'It's only the result of the law of demand and supply.'

New era of news

Chan admitted that the traditional newspaper is a sunset industry, it is estimated that ten to twenty years will decline, and therefore the development of HKEJ will be mainly based on the online news.
