Bernard Charnwut Chan, unofficial member of the Executive Council, yesterday showed his support for CY Leung and his policies, despite many of criticisms from the public.

“CY did start his study on the issues that stated in his political platform two years ago, and he will certainly continue to do this in the coming three years,” Chan said in a talk held in Shue Yan University. Chief Executive CY Leung announced his second Policy Address last week. Many citizens and councilors criticised CY that he did not fulfill his promises in the past two Policy Address. Chan said the government has four categories of problems going to solve, “CY had already started trying to tackle these problem, but many of them may not be able to successfully solved in his term of office.”

A student asked if CY was still a capable candidate for the next Chief Executive election since his popularity was lower than the three Secretaries. Chan said it was depend on how much CY’s policies could be successfully carried out, but he refused to give a exact figure on how much he thought is suitable. Chan also declined he would step up to elect for the next Chief Executive, because it was a position that “ no one has incentive to do.”
