Peter Lai Hing-ling, the Honorary Professor of Department of Politics and Public Administration of University of Hong Kong, attended the general assembly of Hong Kong Shue Yan University today, but refused to comment about the issue as a staff of the university.

He believes that the act [what act?]should be judged according to the statement of Student Union of University of Hong Kong, and by the student union members and the officials of the university.

“University students are hot-blooded, and their ideas are different to the mature adults in the society,” he reminds that there were also many hot-blooded university students in China in 1960s, and urges public to give more allowance to the university students in Hong Kong nowadays. [allowance regarding what?]

In mid-March, the Student Union of University of Hong Kong published a series of advertisements in newspapers to questions if triad elements and “black gold politics”[what is "black gold politics?"] had been involved in the Hong Kong Chief Executive election after the “Shanghai Tsai Dinner” has been exposed by the media.

Public criticize if the advertisement is target to Leung Chun-ying, one of the Chief Executive candidates, and violate the election law [what law?]; however, Dan Chan Koon-hong, the Union President, hold a press conference later to clarify that the advertisements are not targeting to any particular candidate, and the union has no intention to support any of the three contenders in the election.
