The variety shows in Mainland China have been getting people’s attention, not only the Mainlanders, but Hong Kong people (as well) (end sentence), moreover, the local actors and actresses often referred (to) going back to Mainland as earning the “big” money.

The audience in Hong Kong often lost interest in local TV shows but (spend more time *on-use to watch progressive tense instead of on) the variety shows from Mainland China. The actor Wong Hei attended Hong Kong Shue Yan University as a guest speaker, and said that there should be no surprises that the Mainland variety shows are attractive.

Wong Hei explained that the Mainland show makers are serious in what they are doing, and they can pay well. For a Hong Kong celebrity to go up for a variety show in Mainland, unlike in Hong Kong, they cannot expect to finish it within two to three hours. They need to go up a day in advance for rehearsal.

“For an actor like me, it’s common to pay 60 thousands RMB, excluding other costs, like the first class flight ticket, which is a must, and hotel rent, etc. 100 million RMB per actor is the minimum cost for them ,”said Wong.

As the Mainland spends more efforts on their show, there is a huge comparison between the shows in HK and China. The (watching rate-view not watch used for this term) of the local TV shows keep dropping, while the Mainland shows keep attracting more people to watch. As the Mainland show makers pay higher, the celebrities in Hong Kong may start (infinitive marker missing)neglect the Hong Kong target, which makes the TV show industry in Hong Kong keep dropping.

“Actors surely know how to count. They would rather go to a national television with higher pay, then staying at Hong Kong in a local television. Being in a national TV can have a higher exposure and attract more businessmen to approach them as you never know who is watching (the-can omit since tv is not a specific one) TV. Actors may be able to get more jobs,” said Wong.

As Hong Kong is a really busy and fast city, it is hard for Hong Kong (to do (x) the way Mainland is doing.)

Good story, the title is a bit long, could focus it on cost/pay aspect since that is your angle.
