Relative superiorities are degenerating ,says Leung.

The Hon. LEUNG Chun-ying, GBS, JP believes the finanicial profit to cultivate and consolidate Hong Kong’s economical status of middle stage and long-term. Leung, Member cum Convenor of the Executive Council, suggests the support of economical status to avoid the marginalization of purlieus. “The relative superiorities of Hong Kong are degenerating, included capitial, technology and position.” He quoted a statement from business people, “5 or 10 years later, Hong Kong will face marginalization.”

On a speech at Hong Kong Shue Yan University tuesday, Leung points Hong Kong must not be convinced of market forces blindly. “Market forces can maintain the affluent and tranquil life but it can also eliminated the whole of Hong Kong from the competition , for instance, Melaka in Malaysia and Taiyuan, Shanxi in China.” He also said that, the reason of economical recession in USA are not due to recent 3 or 5 years, yet it is influenced by market forces.

Leung believes that, “Container terminals” should be the exact description of Hong Kong but not “International shipping Center”. He said, there are great difference between Container terminals and International shipping Center such as a obvious distance of income in those two places. For example, London is a famous port which is a real “International shipping Center”, but media always mislead and describe Hong Kong with wrong words.
