Reporters have the responsibility to protect the rights of source provider

As a professional reporter, we have the responsibility to protect the rights of our source provider, said Ms Jiang in a seminar yesterday.

Ms Jiang, who is now the President of the CS Culture Foundation, was a famous reporter in reporting international news. She was proud of herself as a reporter because she had written hundreds of first-handed news in her past experience. She said that a good reporter have to try hard to protect the rights of source provider.

She declared that in order to get the first hand information or news, a reporter always need to develop a close relationship with the interviewee, but a reporter have the duty to protect the rights of source provider.

Apart from this, she also believed that a reporter must create a favorable image in the eyes of the interviewee, like by stressing the surname so that to show the reporter’s sincerity and create a friendly relation with the interviewee.
