Roy Kwong, member-elect of the Fifth Term Legco, said he will work as both a writer and a legislative councilor to raise people’s concern about political issue.

Kwong said he found it difficult to do so when he was only a district councilor but he could easily attract readers’s concern with his fiction. So, he decided to write fictions about political issue.

Kwong described Hong Kong is a big circle and mere portion of people was struggling in small political circle when the others never concern about politics.

He hope that he can wake up people out of the small circle to strive for better future.

The potential candidates of next chief executive are the talk of the town now. Kwong said he should not choose from those hit potential candidates.

He criticized the selection system as he though candidate should be nominated by all Hong Kong people.

Comment:

Novelist-turned-lawmaker believes adding political elements to popular fictions will help promote democracy to the general public. Roy Kwong Chun-yun, who won the so-called "super seat" election in the Legislative Council elections, said that he would not give up writing fictions as he sees the benefits of his dual role on promoting democracy.
