Moni YL Law, ICanCode Founder & CEO, attended to the New Faculty Week of Shue Yan University this afternoon. STEM education has become a trend of teaching around the world. This kind of education has been introduced in Hong Kong schools. It not only stimulates students' interest in learning, but also fosters independent learning. Moni said that STEM education could help students improve their learning. She also said that mastering computer coding knowledge was indispensable, so the coding course should be listed as one of the compulsory courses in local schools.

Moni pointed out that the STEM education advocated by the United States is conducive to the overall development of student learning, because it belongs to active teaching, and this teaching model is completely different from traditional learning. The former is led by students and focuses on interaction, guiding them to learn. On the other hand, the latter is more singular, and the students are only receiving the teaching content of the teacher. For example, in the past two years, the Hong Kong government has begun to focus on STEM teaching, so that students can get the most learning results.

Moni believed that the code should be included in the local school curriculum, because the British, American, Japanese, and Taiwan have included the code in the compulsory subject. She said that people in the advertising and marketing industries needed to have a basic knowledge of computer coding, because these industries need to present a diversified form for viewers to watch, not only text creation, but also animation and applications.
