As experienced Public Relations, Esme comments Henry Tang taken right approach in handling rumor of extramarital affair. “Tang has made every effort. If he is not decided to answer any follow-ups, it is wiser to hide fact instead of being honest.” Said Esme.

Esme emphasizes Tang’s explanation relieve public concerns to his private life, while “will public accept it as the answer from CE-hopeful is another matter”. Esme adds her perception to Tang was not affected by his response on marital indiscretion.

Leung Tin Wai, experienced media practitioner, argues concerning Tang ability in fixing crisis, “he is not qualitative as the next CE at all”. Leung raises Ho Hau Wah, CE of Macau, as role model, “no one dare to say a word after Ho made clarification”. Yet, media were not satisfied with Tang’s response currently and kept an eye on him still.

Leung also compares Tang to former US President, Bill Clinton. “Though Clinton was suffered from sex scandal, he dealt well, “said Leung. “In comparison, Tang obviously has no political wisdom and not eligible to become next Chief Executive." Leung quoted from Professor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
