Do you mean Scholarism put in place a threshold in the nomination procedure is to satisfy Beijing? However, he emphasized that a certain standard of nominations around fifty to forty thousand should be maintained. “If the candidates get too few nominations, Central Government will feel the candidates do not have representative.” He mentioned.

Agree with civil disobedience

Lai said, Scholarism agreed to use civil disobedience as a means to fight for universal suffrage but they do not agree with some processes in it. He questioned that some of the volunteers did not fully understand the idea proposed by Dai Yiu Ting which is accommodate different opinions. He explained that when he participated in the discussion day of the movement, the one who leading the discussion was with established position and did not allow people to discuss the proposal of Scholarism.
