Scholarism still considering participation in Occupy Central

By Cheung Yik

Lai Man Lok Oscar, spokesperson of Scholarism, said that they are still considering whether take part in Occupy Central or not in a talk in Shue Yan University today.

“We agree with Benny Y.T. Tai in civil disobedience, but doubt with some processes and steps in the action of Occupy Central,” said Lai. He was dissatisfied with the discussion leader in the Occupy Central D-Day 2. He said that the leader in his group had political influence to the participants as he rejected Scholarism’s proposed public nomination without giving any discussion time. He concerned with whether D-day can give an open discussion for people with different political stands.

Lai claimed that as long as the candidate of Chief Executive is truly work for and love Hong Kong, he would deserve a chance. The suggested requirement of getting hundred thousand of nominators can be put in discussion again. It can change with different backgrounds of candidates.
