The convener of Silent Majority For HK said his group aimed to protect HK citizens by stopping Occupy Central from happening next year.

“We will never give up the fight for the universal suffrage in HK. Yet, we hope to succeed without any disturbances or bloodshed,” Chow Yung said during an academic talk in Hong Kong Shue Yan University this afternoon.

He thought that Occupy Central, a movement started by Tai Yiu Ting, would bring a lot of inconveniences to Hong Kong, such as traffic jams or an unbalance allocation of police manpower in different districts. He joked that the campaign might be a way to test the number of people who would like to sacrifice themselves to change the policy. However, he denoted that the campaign is destroying the serenity of Hong Kong, which goes against his idea to strive for universal suffrage.

Chow believed that Tai does not want to bring Hong Kong to an unstable situation but he might have neglected the consequences led by the campaign. He used a crazy man with a bomb as an analogy as Occupy Central, where he tried to explain himself to be the one who reminds people not to bring a disturbances to Hong Kong. “My responsibility is to ask Hong Kong people to escape from the crazy man but not to stop the crazy man.” said Chow.
