Slang using in published media
Proverbs and slang using are becoming more and more popular in both our daily life and in media. The owner of “Subculture” Pang Chi Ming shared his views on the development of proverbs and slang. Pang believes that using proverbs is a normal development in literature. Although the people complaining about how proverbs are rude and informal to be used as written language, it is somehow the most pertinent form to express people’s feeling. Many famous Chinese writers use proverbs, or even slang sometimes, to show the characteristics of personages. And their work are accepted and praised by the public. “Proverbs should be respected and protected, but not despising,” said Pang. Pang suggested that proverbs and slang that are well managed can become delights of a passage. In order to get the technique to do so, journalists should obtain all branches of knowledge. He encouraged journalists to browse among books, do more research and should pursue knowledge in different fields, so they can have the power to manage words wisely.
