Sociable is the key to be a successful reporter
As a journalist, it is very important to get first handed information. How can that happen? When there is a incident, it is always be extremely difficult to reach the victims or related people, as there are so many barriers among them. What is the key to help journalists to reach those people? Cheng Ping Wah, executive reporter of Sing Tao Daily, said there is nothing better than the help of a good communication network. “A journalist should know all kinds of people, even a beggar. You will never know if they are a new clue of the news,” said Cheung. He also believes that using people to get news is not a big deal, as in the end people are all using each other for their own goods. But he empathizes that using is not betraying. “Once you betrayed your friends, then you will lose your friends.”
